Normal use of the face rest is only in the prone position.
The Head Rest Support allows you to use the face rest while the client is in the supine position. Simply insert the Head Rest Support into the opening of the face cradle.

You can easily position the client in cervical extension, rotate or laterally flex the head to gain precise access to the soft tissues of the neck. The positioning base secures the Head Rest Support and still allows for subltle movements. The cervical curve is exposed for easy therapeutic access.
- It makes the table longer for tall clients
- The Head Rest Support improves therapist body mechanics and reduces stress on fingers, thumbs and wrists.
- More leg room makes it easy to work from the end of the table (without stradeling the table) or the side of the table for easy access to the cervical spine.
Use the standard face cradle adjustments to tilt the head back into extension.

Use standard face cradle adjustments to tilt the head forward into flexion.

Once you use the Head Rest Support you will never want to do massage without it again.
The Head Rest Support can be positioned in the long position as shown here.

Or, it can be positioned in the wide position as shown below.

This simple adjustment is helpful when working with clients with long or short necks. It works to ensure maximum open space for access to the neck and to support the client's head while in any position.
The Head Rest Support surface is slightly dome shaped which facilitates moving the head from side to side in rotation and lateral flexion.
Therapist's Experience:
"I have been using the head rest support platform for most of my massages and I can't begin to tell you how much my clients love it! It allows my clients to feel more supported in the neck region and in turn they relax completely. Also, my neck treatments are more flexible in the way I can manipulate the client's head without fatiguing my hands in the process."
